Stitchdown construction. It is the slowest way to build this boot, and it is the reason we are taking this long.

Wet loading docks, polished retail floors, gravel, stairs. We are choosing around that day, not around a catalogue photo.
Built to age
Leather that is supposed to mark, soften and take the shape of your foot. A scuff at week three is not a defect. It is the point.
Anything we have not confirmed yet, we leave blank. It gets filled in when it is true.

We show the samples, the revisions and the ones we sent back, before we call anything finished. Most brands publish the boot. We are publishing the process that produces it — including the parts that did not work.

Questions people actually ask.
Is it waterproof?
No. The first boot is not waterproof, on purpose. Waterproofing is a construction we have not validated with a factory yet, and we are not shipping a claim we cannot stand behind.
Is there a safety toe?
Not in the first run. A safety toe means certification, and certification means a timeline that would push this boot out by a year. It is on the roadmap, not in the first boot.
When does it ship?
Not confirmed. We are choosing the factory and the final build in October. We will publish a window the week that is decided, not before.
What does it cost?
Not confirmed. We will publish the price when the final build and the factory are locked. We would rather say nothing than say a number we have to take back.
Can it be resoled?
Stitchdown construction is repairable by a cobbler who works on stitchdown boots. We will publish the full resole guidance with the product.
Where is it made?
China. We work directly with the factories, we visit them in person, and we show them on this site.
